Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kincardine & District – New guidelines regarding in-person match visits as they relate to vaccinations

Kincardine, ON:

Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the province have been working collectively on new guidelines for in-person matches. Our local agency’s guidelines are as follows:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kincardine and District does not require our Littles to be vaccinated in order to access our programs.
  • For individuals who are applying to become a mentor, Proof of Vaccination will be required. If an applicant is not able to provide Proof of Vaccination, their only option will be a virtual mentoring program. For further details, please contact info.kincardine@bigbrothersbigsisters.ca.
  • For Bigs and Littles who are currently in a match, they will be required to disclose their vaccination status. Once they are aware of each other’s vaccination status, they can choose between the following two options:
    • Meet virtually; or
    • Meet in person upon signing an agreement stating that they understand the risks, are comfortable with meeting in person, and will follow public health guidelines.

We also have guidelines for group match activities, which are provided as events arise.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact your mentoring coordinator.

Above all else, please stay safe. This is of utmost importance to us all!
